Squirrel mania
Walking in the park I took another photo of a squirrel. This one was brave enough to come down from the tree for some treats. They are not so much afraid of people than they are of dogs. Dogs chase them, people feed them. They wiggle and beat their tails, make threatening voices, but all because they are so tinny and we so huge. Imagine yourself in it’s place… They are agile and quick, but it seems their vision and smell is not quite sharp. When you toss a nut toward them, more often than not, they can’t find it… go figure…
When they get used to you, they can be really fun and joy. They take treats out of your hand, even climb on you.. so I sometimes feel like a squirrel tree, or a nut bush. You have to be patient though, not every day is a good day, and then there are people who just march in yelling “muki muki” calling the squirrels and completely disregarding you, scaring away the squirrels in the process. There are also some that come in a more pleasant manner, where mutual admiration is possible, they take care of feeding, I shoot the pictures.
The following tho pictures show me feeding one of them and another curiously looking at my camera.
A short video presentation of them interacting with me, after the break, bellow…
